Shootout for Soldiers is an incredible organization, and at least 92 cents of every dollar goes directly to programs that make a real difference, including:
Mental Health Solutions — funding intensive therapeutic retreats, post-traumatic growth training, and suicide prevention programs through organizations like the Boulder Crest Foundation
Physical Rehabilitation & Adaptive Sports — providing specialized equipment, custom smart homes for severely wounded heroes, and adaptive sporting events
Civilian Transition Support — offering career counseling, professional networking resources, and financial assistance to help veterans successfully reintegrate into civilian life
Emotional Support Animals — sponsoring the training and placement of service dogs for veterans dealing with PTSD and mobility issues through groups like Pets for Vets
This cause is deeply personal to me.
Many of you know that I’ve been through some significant health challenges. I had my first heart attack at 35, followed by four more after that. Through that journey, lacrosse gave me something incredibly important: focus, discipline, and motivation. It helped me commit to the physical and mental work required to regain my health and keep moving forward.
